Chamber Music Festival August 1st to 4th, 2019

Brahms, Brahms, and more Brahms.  One of our most dear composers.  One who blessed us with an incredible violin concerto, 2 piano concerti, 4 symphonies (no operas!!!!), unbelievable solo piano works, a ton of lieder, and a wealth of chamber music for so many different combinations of instruments.  Where do we start?  What can we possible leave out? This happens to us every year with every composer and it is the most difficult part of the preparation.  But, once we've made the choice, we can't look back!  All we can do, and we consider it every year, is do a second year with some of the music we didn't include!

Having announced this year's composer on the last concert of the summer 2018 festival, I immediately received some requests for specific works!  I have tried to take them into account...the only one missing for the moment is the G major Violin Sonata.  We will include:

the B major piano trio, opus 8

some solo piano works, most likely a few Intermezzi opus 118 and 119

the d minor violin and piano sonata, opus 108

the g minor piano quartet, opus 25

some kind of a quintet... maybe the piano quintet, maybe a viola quintet?
